Dr Andrew Joyce-Gibbons PGCE, SFHEA
I’m a Key Stage 2 specialist with over 20 years’ experience in primary education as a teacher, teacher educator, and education researcher. This diverse background makes me well placed to support learners across all areas of the 11+ examination.
My approach centres on building strong, trusting relationships with both children and their families through clear communication and high—but achievable—expectations. I believe that lasting progress comes from scaffolded practice, thoughtful reflection, and the clear, actionable feedback I provide at every step.
I pride myself on being approachable and encouraging, helping each child grow in confidence and feel fully prepared to succeed.
As I work in schools and with children in other settings, I have an enhanced DBS certificate and receive regular child safeguarding training.
I have spent over two decades exploring how children learn best—both in the UK and internationally. My research has focused on how technology, collaboration, and thoughtful teaching help children develop confidence, critical thinking skills, and deep understanding.
Whether advising national education ministries, partnering with UNICEF, or working closely with individual schools, I draw on this experience in every tutoring session—ensuring each child receives tailored support to help them thrive.
